Dr. Johnson is a tenured full professor of Pathology at the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Johnson served in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star, and subsequently received his M.D. degree from the University of Connecticut. Trained as an immunologist and a pathologist, Dr. Johnson’s research interest’s center on the immune response of the body to disease processes such as inflammation and neoplasia. Dr. Johnson has had extensive NIH and industry grant support and his research has resulted in over 300 publications. Dr. Johnson is board certified in anatomic and immunopathology. Dr. Johnson also has had extensive experience for more than 20 years in drug development consulting with biotech firms as well as with large pharma on preclinical and clinical issues relating to drug development. He has worked closely with drug development teams on preclinical and clinical issues and has provided expertise on appropriate animal models, mechanisms of toxicity and appropriate clinical end points. Dr. Johnson also has worked with the companies developing departments of experimental pathology. Dr. Johnson has also had scientists from industry work in his laboratory and also has provided training for industry funded post doctoral students. |
